How you join, and why asking isn't enough
Size is part of the method. Admitting everyone who asks would turn the forum into an auditorium, and no one converses in an auditorium.
You join through the recommendation of two members and a prior conversation. What matters isn't the title but whether the person will contribute in a small room and respect its rules.
A member commits to three things: not attributing what they hear, not bringing personal matters, and coming prepared. Anyone who can't manage all three is better off elsewhere, and that's fine.
The membership fee covers session and documentation costs. It doesn't fund positions, campaigns, or third-party activities.

Frequently asked
What people ask before joining
Is this a lobby?
No. A lobby defends an interest before those who decide; the forum defends none and doesn't pass on requests. Individual matters don't enter the room, and that's the difference that gets people talking.
Can I bring someone from my company?
One guest per member per session, with advance notice. Capacity is part of the method: past thirty people, conversation turns into a queue of speakers.
What happens if someone repeats what was said outside?
What was heard can be used; it can't be attributed to who said it. Whoever breaks that rule stops being a member, and it has happened.
Does the forum have a political stance?
No, and it's deliberate. It neither endorses what its guests say nor backs those who attend. A forum with its own doctrine stops being a place where people listen.
How much does it cost?
There's an annual fee that covers sessions and documentation. It's explained during the initial conversation, along with everything else.
Introduced by two members?
That's the way in, and it starts with a conversation.
